As soon as one would walk through our small apartment front door, all they would see was a longish white walled hall with multiple doors. I would say it wasn’t the most welcoming sight. I went rummaging through some old furniture I had stored away in a basement and found the perfect piece of furniture for this hall…but it definitely needed to be up cycled first.

I opted to paint the piece a dark matte color and for a truly welcoming feel, I made sure to complement the piece with warm elements such as wood, plants, gold hardware and gold fixtures.
